The department of School of Management Adamas University offers a range of innovatively designed programmes whose curriculum is constantly updated to meet the changing requirement of the students and industry. The program aims to enable graduated to understand the challenges of Business across all sectors in different functional areas of management. The program is amalgamation of academic rigor and practical exposures. There is a careful balance of teaching and learning, individual and group work, case study analysis and class based discussion, problem solving and decision making abilities, conceptual and analytical discussion, and above all regular seminars by external industry experts and academia.

Introduction:

The evaluation of pharmaceutical sector in India may be set into four stages. The first stage is the period before the year 1970 in that time the Indian market was dominated by foreign companies with little domestic participation. But today India acquired 14th rank in global pharma industry as on 2005. India is projected 10th largest market in pharma industry. Being a highly organised sector, the Indian pharmaceutical market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 23.9% to reach US$55 by 2020.

These two –years, full time MBA in Pharmaceutical Management course is a domain specific course which concentrates on preparing the students to enter the pharmaceutical sectors. After completion, the students can join the pharmaceuticals industry, some also join consultancy companies.

This programme is not old. MBA, Pharmaceutical Management is received well by the industry. The main focus of this course is to prepare students so that they may join the pharmaceutical industry as an executives/ managers after completion of the course. This course concentrates on Economics and law, (laws related to pricing and other drug industry related laws, on IPR,) Production systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Assurance, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Good Marketing Practices, Costing & Accounting, Strategic Procurement in Pharma, supply chain and distribution practices. International Marketing, Managing R & D in Pharmaceuticals, Strategic Brand Management, Communication, Pricing and Pharmaceuticals Promotion are taught in this course. The main differentiator in this course is to have industry and academics work closely in both selecting candidates. The program will help the students to grab the market opportunities in the pharmaceutical and other chemical industries. An MBA in Pharmaceutical Management prepares students for a number of careers including healthcare, drugs, food, and pharmaceutical sales.
